Hello, welcome to my site.  My name is Mr. Ferguson, and I teach in the English Department.  This  year, 2011-2012, is my 40th year as a classroom teacher.  Over those years I have taught every grade from 4th through college sophomore, and I have taught courses in every area of the Language Arts, concentrating primarily on high school English, Journalism, and Speech.  In addition, I coached drama, contest speech, debate and mock trial activities for over 25 years.  Presently, I am in my 34rd year in the Cedar Rapids Metro Catholic system and am chairman of the English Department. I am currently teaching English I, Effective Writing and World Literature.

I earned a B. A. from the University of Northern Iowa with a double major in English and Teaching English as a Foreign Language and an M. A. from the University of South Dakota in Secondary Education.
